Just want to take a second and reflect on what's just transpired in the last 3 days... Arriving down in Tauranga, hopes were high, weather was on point and despite @kelankeating__ becoming sick just before leaving things were looking good. Practice went well Kes managed to overcome the nerves and with some car changes put in some great runs! Qualifying day however was a little different...the little gold 86 shut down in the middle of a run and would not start again🤦‍♂️ 3 hours of diagnostics with the team and others jumping in to help ended up with us getting the car fired up and fixed 5-10min before we needed to be on the line. First battle found us almost knocked out requiring a protest and finding the other car had dropped a wheel! Pushing us into an OMT 👀 and I swear there only would have been single digit points between us 🙏. Kes then did what Kes does and started smashing his way up the tree finally coming to an end for the battle for 1st & 2nd where we took out second place due to a wheel drop... however knowing we had the championship in the bag we could relax.... To our workshop partners ♥️ @86fighters what a drive this season buddy! You showed what you are really capable of in the 86👏 the knife to a gunfight situation you proved you can pedal that old girl to the top step 🏆 we are all so proud of you. @garageponies ....mate 3 seasons of following us round in the heat, cold , rain and Putting up with grumpy crew and ending up here! Putting us all out to the world in such a unique way that only you can do 🙏 Thank you so much dude ♥️ @turbocarenz is a company that really just knows their shit 🤣 working with them over this race car has been an absolute pleasure and the product that they provided for the 86 has been floorless! not to mention all of our other work we collaborate on you boys are top notch 👏 @motul_nz thank you for helping us keep this little pocket rocket running for the last 3 seasons ♥️ Without you keeping that engine together wouldn't have been possible 🙏 @yokohama_nz our fronts were provided by in my opinion the best tyre company in the world! What a round! ...... We are so proud to be involved with some of the cars at the top of the pro sport championship this season. Just a quick one ....we have struggled with IATs as the power level has increased on the @86fighters 86 with Taupo being the tipping point to look for other options. We contacted HDi in Australia with the hopes of getting something a little better...fast forward HDi sent us their amazing GT2 intercooler that has completely changed the 86 for the better. Peak temps during competition were hitting the mid 70c's now sitting flat between mid 30s to 40c we never would have thought we would see such a drastic improvement! If you are looking for an intercooler that hits the mark and isn't a million dollars we are proud to now be a distributor for this amazing product.

In conjunction with our friends @turbocarenz we are thinking about running a pop-up event in Christchurch! Well I'm back from Japan with some new updates and some new insights into our K20C development. As most of you are aware we are not using a 3rd party to tune the FK8 or FL5 platform...no ecu hardware exchange or jail breaking needed. After our turbo and downpipe have proven themselves our only setback has been fuel as we have not had the ability to add bigger injectors to the OEM software. Research, trial and error got us to start testing in-tank pumps and trying to nail the current draw vs flow issue with success! We now have a pump kit available that works perfectly with the OEM ecu and dropped the development car from 98% duty on the fuel system total to 88% making things a lot safer🤣 But the big news is @tpd_tuned ( Dan ) is now working on a software upgrade that will finally allow us to push further and add in bigger injectors and high pressure fuel pump 😍 in turn giving me the opportunity to turn it up! And see what the turbo can really do 😁 this will also give us the option to not sacrifice any drivability or adding extra cost bar the injectors and fuel pump kit. J's Racing was also kind enough to share some data as we have done from our program.. to make sure we are definitely delivering the best tuning possible for these platforms with no sacrifices. We will keep you updated once we have the beta software in our little hands and then hopefully change the game on these cars as the sky will be the limit 🙏 built engine , drag , street , big turbo will all be available to do on a STOCK ECU 🔥 JP

Tune finished on the GR Corolla, was suprisingly how similar the maps were compared to the Yaris, a bit more timing and more boost after 5500rpm is how Toyota is getting an extra 21kW more than the Yaris. Dyno is reading slightly higher than Toyota claims but worked with that as a starting point. Final results netted 24kW and 50Nm over factory an alot more punchy down low in the revs. #grcorolla #grcorollatuning #dynotuning @tpd_tuned
